RONALD K. JORGENSEN, M.D.
An owner-physician of the Arizona Asthma and Allergy Institute. He is board certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology and by the American Board of Internal Medicine. After graduating from the University of Utah Medical School, he completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Utah Medical Center. Following residency, he completed a fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He enjoys community service, skiing, and fishing.
KEVIN M. BOESEL, M.D.
An owner-physician of the Arizona Asthma and Allergy Institute. He is board certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology and by the American Board of Pediatrics. After graduating from the University of Nevada School of Medicine, Dr. Boesel completed his Pediatric Residency training in St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. Following residency, he completed his fellowship in Adult and Pediatric Allergy/Immunology at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Dr. Boesel is currently treating both adult and pediatric patients.
MARK E. ROSE, M.D.
An owner-physician of the Arizona Asthma and Allergy Institute. He is board certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology and by the Board of Internal Medicine. He obtained his B.S. and M.D. from the University of Utah. Subsequently, Dr. Rose spent six years at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He completed three years as an Internal Medicine resident, a fourth year as Chief Medical Resident and two years as an Allergy/Immunology/Asthma fellow. He is also a Fellow in the American Contact Dermatitis Society. Dr. Rose enjoys riding horses and playing sports with his wife and six children.
RYAN M. CASPER, M.D.
An owner-physician of the Arizona Asthma and Allergy Institute. He is board certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. After graduating from The Medical College of Wisconsin, Dr. Casper completed his Pediatric Residency training at Phoenix Children’s Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. Following his residency, he completed his fellowship in Allergy/Immunology at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His primary hobby is being a “sports nut”….he enjoys playing basketball, golf and tennis and he is a HUGE Packers and Badgers fan.
LEVENTE E. ERDOS, M.D.
An owner-physician of the Arizona Asthma and Allergy Institute. He is board certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology and by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center School of Medicine. Dr. Erdos completed his Internal Medicine Residency training at Northwestern University medical center in Chicago, Illinois. He continued on at Northwestern University to complete his fellowship in Allergy and Immunology. Dr. Erdos enjoys spending time with this wife and kids, cooking his award winning chili, playing soccer and traveling.
EIZA CHING, M.D.
An owner-physician of the Arizona Asthma and Allergy Institute. She is certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology and the American Board of Internal Medicine. She graduated from the University of Santo Tomas College of Medicine and Surgery in the Philippines. She obtained six years of training at the Cleveland Clinic where she completed her Internal Medicine Residency training followed by a year as Chief Medical Resident and subsequent fellowship training for Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. She enjoys traveling, crafts, dancing, swimming, opportunities for community service and cooking diverse cuisines but admittedly needs a little help. She is also learning how to become a loyal Cleveland sports fan from her husband.
R. JOSEPH MITTEL, M.D.
An owner-physician of the Arizona Asthma & Allergy Institute. He is board certified by the American Board of Allergy & Immunology and by the American Board of Pediatrics. After graduating from The University of Louisville College of Medicine, Dr. Mittel completed his pediatric residency training at Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois. Following his residency, he completed his fellowship in Adult and Pediatric Allergy and Immunology at Rush University in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Mittel currently sees both adult and pediatric patients for the Institute. In his free time, Dr. Mittel enjoys traveling, swimming and spending time with his wife and five children.
Gilbert D. Ortega, MD
Dr. Ortega is a physician at the Arizona Asthma and Allergy Institute. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and trained in both adult and pediatric Allergy and Immunology. After graduating from the University of Arizona College of Medicine, Dr. Ortega stayed at the University of Arizona to complete his Internal Medicine residency. Following his residency, he completed his fellowship in adult and pediatric Allergy and Immunology at UT Southwestern in Dallas, Texas. He enjoys fitness and anything outdoors as well as spending time with his wife, son, and two golden retrievers.
Jacob T. Maddux, MD
A physician at the Arizona Asthma and Allergy Institute. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and trained in adult and pediatric Allergy and Immunology. He obtained his B.S. from Arizona State University and M.D. from the University of Arizona. He spent the following six years at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona completing three years as an Internal Medicine resident, one year as Chief Medical Resident and two years as an Allergy/Immunology/Asthma fellow. While at the Mayo Clinic he obtained the academic ranking of Assistant Professor of Medicine and took part a wide variety of research endeavors with a primary interest in health care technologies and aerobiology. In his free time, Dr. Maddux enjoys spending time with his family, watching, and playing sports.
Alexander J. Nicholson, MD
Dr. Nicholson is a physician at the Arizona Asthma and Allergy Institute. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He received his medical degree from Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Oregon. Following medical school, he completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Hawaii and subsequent fellowship training in Allergy & Immunology at the University of Arizona. Dr. Nicholson enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and three daughters and has a special interest in classic cars.
WILLIAM F. MORGAN, M.D.
The founding physician of the Arizona Asthma and Allergy Institute. He is board certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology and by the American Board of Pediatrics. Following his residency, Dr. Morgan completed a fellowship in Adolescent Medicine at the University of Colorado Medical Center and a fellowship in Allergy and Clinical Immunology at the National Jewish Center for Immunology and Respiratory Medicine. Dr. Morgan has been named one of the “Top Docs” in Phoenix Magazine for several years. Dr. Morgan is also a certified life coach, specializing in life transitions.
Dr. Morgan is retired from AAAI and practicing medicine. In 2015, Dr. Morgan graduated with a Master’s in Counseling Psychology and is currently volunteering for the Arizona Trauma Institute.
NICOLE ENGLERT, P.A.-C
A board certified Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants since 1999. She graduated Magna cum Laude from Midwestern University in Glendale Arizona. She has enjoyed providing comprehensive care for patients of all ages in family practice, emergency room, urgent care and internal medicine. Additional training in wellness and anti-aging advanced her interest and practice in preventative evidence-based alternative therapies. For optimal wellness, she integrates conventional medicine with nutritional and herbal therapies. She lives in Chandler with her husband and two daughters. Her interests include volunteering for her daughter’s activities, playing on the beach with her family, yoga/pilates and reading.
CHRISTINE PRATT, P.A.-C
A board certified Physician Assistant by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants since 1998. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Wichita State University. She also possesses a Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine, which she obtained from the University of Connecticut. In addition to her experience in Asthma and Allergy, she has worked in the fields of Primary Care, Occupational Medicine, and Neurology. She enjoys outdoor activities, especially, hiking and biking in Northern Arizona.
KATIE WERNER, P.A.-C
A board certified Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants since 2019. Katherine graduated from Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona with her Master of Medical Science Degree in Physician Assistant Studies. She also possesses a Bachelor degree in History of Science, Medicine and Public Health from Yale University. Her clinical interests include asthma, allergies, atopic dermatitis and preventative medicine. She is a native Phoenician and enjoys spending her free time playing basketball, traveling, baking and spending time with her family and friends.
HEATHER O’CONNELL, P.A.-C
A board certified Physician Assistant by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants since 2015. Heather graduated from Midwestern University and spent three years in family medicine before entering the allergy and asthma specialty. Her passion lies in helping patients of all ages with asthma and allergies manage their disease so they can enjoy life to the fullest. Heather enjoys spending time with her nieces and nephews, running, traveling, baking and calligraphy in her spare time.
Kevin Madayag, PA-C
A board-certified Physician Assistant by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants since 2017. Kevin graduated from Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona and has previously worked in general pediatrics. Additionally, he graduated from Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois with a Master of Arts in Biomedical Sciences. He obtained his undergraduate bachelor’s degree in health sciences from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. His clinical interests include allergies and sports medicine. He is passionate about helping patients of all ages be as healthy as possible. In his free time, Kevin enjoys hiking, camping, traveling, and watching or playing sports.
Matthew Baylon, PA-C
A board certified Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants since 2019. Matthew graduated from Midwestern University in Glendale with his Master of Medical Science Degree in Physician Assistant Studies. He also obtains a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Grand Canyon University. He previously worked in pediatrics here in the Valley.
His clinical interests include asthma, allergies, general pediatrics, as well as health and wellness. Matthew was born and raised in Arizona where he completed all of his schooling from elementary/high school (GO CENTENNIAL COYOTES) to undergrad/grad school alongside his high school sweetheart. In his free time, he loves hiking with his wife and rowdy puppy and staying active with sports and volunteering at church. He looks forward to serving the needs of you and your family.
Riley Willman, PA-C
A board certified Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants since 2019. Riley graduated from Touro University Nevada in Henderson, NV with her Masters of Physician Assistant Studies. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan, obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience. Prior to joining the AAAI team, she worked in general pediatrics in Glendale, AZ. Her clinical interests include caring for pediatric patients and preventative medicine. Riley treats both adult and pediatric patients. She hopes to help each patient improve their health and enjoy life without the burden of asthma and allergies. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading, cooking, and hiking with her husband and their dog!
